Free Childcare

We are now offering 30 hours free education (Extended Entitlement) at Harpers as well as 15 hours (FEET) at St Mary’s!

Sunflower Nursery School at Harpers can now offer up to 30 hours childcare in line with the governments funded childcare program. St Mary’s are able to provide FEET, which is 15 hours free childcare for 3/4 and some 2 year olds.

What is the free entitlement and how does it work?

There are two types of free entitlement:

  1. Free Early Education for Two Year Olds (FEET): This is the governments offer to eligible families of up to 15 hours of free early education and childcare a week (for 38 weeks). You can find out if your child can get FEET by checking the financial and automatically funded criteria on the Surrey Early Years website.
  2. 30 Funded Hours for 3/4 Year Olds: Most working parents of three and four year olds are eligible for an extra 15 hours of funded childcare a week, term time, added to their current universal entitlement of 15 hours FEET. Again, you can find out if you’re eligible by checking the criteria on the Surrey Early Years website.

What is Sunflower Nursery Schools offering?

We offer both FEET and 30 hours for eligible parents. This means it’s free at the point of use as we are paid directly by the government. Our open hours at both our settings are in line with the free entitlement we are able to offer.
